the Democratic Leadership has Betrayed Us

Christmas is over and so is the time of good cheer.  Well and good because I'm fucking pissed.  I have good reason.

Why were you elected, Democrats?  Why the hell were you lame-asses put into office? 

You replaced the Republicans so that you could make a change in the way we are doing things.  We didn't send you to Washington to do every goddamned thing Bush wants you to do.  If we wanted cowards afraid of Bush and Cheney's every word, we'd have sent a bunch of College Republicans, afraid to go and fight but perfectly suited to be cheerleaders in suits, ties, skirts and pom-poms.  But we didn't want cowards and cowtowing lameasses in Washington.  We wanted men and women with backbones . . . and we didn't get them.

Nancy Pelosi is the worst of the fucking bunch.  You people in San Francisco ought to be damned ashamed of yourselves for giving us that spineless administration minion.  For Fuck's sake, what's the first thing she did?  She took impeachment off the table.  And there is no good reason for it .  . . she gave those criminals a free pass, giving them free reign to continue doing whatever the hell they pleased, from taking more civil rights from citizens to creating a phony case to invade yet another nation.  They don't have to look over their shoulder, watch their actions, or even worry about an investigation because what's going to happen?  The only real power Congress has over the Executive has been removed as an option.  Fuck her and you spineless whimps in San Francisco who elected that useless miscreant and infected the rest of the country with her uselessness.  You people ought to be ashamed.

When  the Bush administration wants some money or immunity for their corporate cronies, or a free pass to spy on us or take more liberties, the opposition party turns around, bends over and takes it up the ass lubeless, and thanks Bush for the violation.  What are you thinking?  What kind of way is that to sell out?  At least have a little self respect and meet him in public for your fucking.  At least give us voters a little courtesy of saying right up front, “We're going to be violated in every way a rape victim can possibly be violated, but at least we'll smile for you.”

I hate this party.  I hate them with a passion.  No, I don't like the Corrupt Republicans any better, but at least they aren't lying about selling us out to multinational corporations and Bible carrying hypocrites.  At least they're parading up front with their evil.  Our Democrats are the trojan horse of the enemy, hollowed out, soulless, and ready to sell us out for the promise of what?  Nothing, not a damned thing. 

You gave them all that they asked, and Bush gave nothing in return.  He's beaten on you like an abused child, he's had his way with you like a priest to an alter boy.  He's happier with you Democrats than he was with the Republicans who preceded you because he doesn't even have to pretend to like you. 

What have you done all this for?  Why have you turned your back on us voters?  Why are you betraying your party, your supporters, the U.S. Constitution, and your nation? 

I heard that it was a careful plan to gain even more control of Congress in 2008.  Guess what you lying cowards.  You were elected to help us out in 2006, not to shore up power and shoot for a two-year delay.  Fuck you. 

Harry Reid, you lame, lying coward. Fuck you too.  Step down and let someone with a heart take your place because you don't have what it takes to stand up for yourself and for your country.  Nevada voters, you have failed us.  You have given us someone worse than useless.  You have given us a disease, Nevada – a cancer that kills us from the inside more effectively than Bush, Cheney, Rove were apt to do from the outside.  Nevada voters, you need to petition for a recall election and send Harry Reid to the unemployment line.  He deserves worse. 

They've given out everything Bush wanted.  They've carried the banner of imperialism and fascism as surely as a NeoCon Congress would've done. 

They need to go.  They have failed us . .  . 100% and completely.

Don't be so short sighted. This is a plan to take control of congress and the White House. They aren't spineless, more like possums. They are only pretending to be dead and completely useless. When the time comes, they are going to come alive and take this country by storm, you know, just like possums do when they get all worked up. Democrats will be the rabid possums of 2011 (hell, they might as well wait and go for the last third before taking action).

Dude, I can't stand Nancy Pelosi and I've never voted for her. She's a privileged moron with a very limited grasp on the day to day reality of most Americans. As you may recall, I declared this Democratic controlled Congress a stillborn failure months and months ago. This woman and her party are so desperate to maintain power, they've become terrified of even slightly rocking the boat. It's all about crumbs at this point. The Democrats are pathetic.

There you go again. Once again we have a rant. Nothing specific, just bitching and moaning about how Democrats "rolled over to Bush." Let's start with the whens and the hows. Then there's the complaint about how Pelosi took impeachment off the table. Okay, let's explore that, impeachment for what? The war in Iraq? Illegal Domestic Surveillance? Generalized corruption? To really respond, you have to actually say something but I guess that's inconsistent with the entire goal of the rant. It's not to a substitute for complaining. The only difference is that you post it so all the world can see it. I guess you can call that my rant against rants.

Now, having said that, given that I'm not exactly what one would call a fan of Republicans, let's retry this discussion with some specifics.

Do we want to impeach the President of the United States for misleading information leading up to the war in Iraq? Recall gross incompetence or sheer stupidity is not a basis for impeachment. I just finished Cobra II. It's a book about the invasion and occupation of Iraq written by a N.Y. Times reporter and a former Army General. What came out of that was the fact that it looked like the U.S. Army was behaving like the Iraqi Army had WMD. In fact they expected them to use them as they approached the ring defenses outside of Baghdad. Given that, when soldiers in the field act in a certain way, I would chaulk something like that up to bad intelligence not outright lying.

Sure there's evidence of manipulation of the data by Bush political operatives, but the bottom line is the Director of the CIA signed off on the assessment. That provides Bush with legal cover in an impeachment case on that issue, not necessarily political cover.

I guess I'm out of space. If you want to talk about the case for impeachment for illegal domestic surveillance we can talk about that. There might even be a better case ther.
