Reads of the Week - Former Mormon Edition

Your Blog assignments for this week all have a Former Mormon theme.  I've found some great ones since I've started writing about my Mormon Experiences.

The First:  Daddy, Papa, and Me.  Trey is writing about his experiences as a gay father, a member of the LBGT community of great parents, and as a former Mormon.  His experience with the Court of Excommunication brought it back home to me how serious it really was to be kicked out of the church.  I make fun of it, and I'm bitter about it, but truth be known - it hurt.  And his writing is powerful enough to bring that all back.

The Second:  Gluby's Notes.  A former Mormon who carefully thinks through the philosophical impact of things like atheism and brings out comprehensive posts regarding it.  You'll enjoy his wit and you'll enjoy his self-deprecation.  I do.

The Third:  Sideon's Sanctuary.  Witty, eclectic, former Mormon writing with flair.  I've enjoyed each post no matter how unconnected they seem to be - it reminds me of how my own thought process works.

The Fourth:  Letters From A Broad.  A former Mormon and artist living in France relating her experiences inside the church, growing up as a good little girl.  Fun, long accounts of what it's really like to be a Mormon.
